Chiropractor vs Osteopath

osteopath vs chiropractor

Chiropractors, or Doctors of Chiropractic as they are known, are neuro-musculoskeletal specialists. They actually treat the central nervous system (which as we all know, controls our entire body). The central nervous system fires messages up and down the spinal cord and the spinal cord is protected by the joints and muscles of the back. If there is an injury anywhere in the body, the brain will ‘lock up’ the muscles in the back to protect the spine and try and prevent further injury. Unfortunately, those locked muscles will likely restrict movement and alter the messages your brain is receiving. That in turn affects the way your brain controls that specific region of the body.
Such restrictions, in the short to medium term, will cause mobility issues, pain or discomfort, and long term they can have profound impact on your overall health. Chiropractors alleviate the restrictions and provide long term solution to pain and discomfort. Osteopaths work in a very similar way, with slightly different philosophies, but overall will be just as effective. You won’t find us bad-mouthing another professional, but we think our reviews speak for themselves and would be happy to meet you and discuss this in more depth.
