Why visit a chiropractor?

Chiropractor providing treatment

We all know that the source of pain in the neck, back or joints can be a nuisance. Chiropractic treatment needn’t be just for those recovering from an injury. In fact, it can be used to improve your overall health in many surprising ways.

London Wellness Centre chiropractor Joanna Lowry-Corry highlights some tell-tale signs that you may need to visit a chiropractor.

Chronic pain in your joints or muscles can be indicator of some underlying musculoskeletal issues, but why else should you visit a chiropractor?

Basic flexibility

Reduced flexibility and range of motion can be an early indication that joints and movements aren’t what they once were. Whatever your age, if flexibility has started to become an issue it may be time to visit a chiropractor to regain motion and assess the damage that may have already been caused.

Pain management

Daily function needn’t be reliant on medication and pain killers. It’s often the case that these simply mask the symptoms and do not treat the root cause of the problem. Numerous studies show how patients seeking chiropractic care for lower back pain get relief faster and the results last longer. Ultimately, chiropractic treatment aims to remove the pressure on the nerves affected, thereby addressing the cause instead of covering up the symptoms. In most cases, chiropractic care can delay or even eliminate the need for drugs or surgery.

Natural alignment

This is often something that goes unnoticed. However, the soles of your shoes can be a key indicator of this, especially if they wear out differently. This is a good sign that your body is out of alignment and probably needs to be readjusted.

Bad posture

Awkward sitting and standing positions at home or work can often put stress on muscles and eventually weaken them. Chiropractic care can relieve the pressure this causes and help the musculoskeletal system to perform in a more balanced manner.

Headaches

Although a very common condition for people across the UK, very often they are a sign that a patient has excessive stress on the central nervous system. Chiropractic treatment itself does not treat headaches. However, the adjustments reduce nerve pressure and allow the entire body to function better. As a result, many headaches tend to dissipate or even disappear.

People are increasingly turning to natural forms of healthcare and focusing on preventative techniques. Chiropractic is the leading alternative and continues to support patients and help improve their overall health and wellbeing.
