State-of-the-art Women’s Health service opens at London Wellness
New Consultant-Led Women’s Health Service Opens at our Canary Wharf Clinic, headed by Lead-Consultant Mr Christopher C. T. Lee MBBS, BSc, MRCOG (Specialist in Minimal Access Gynaecology).
With the launch of a private Gynaecology service this month, we’re taking the lead in women’s health and disease prevention.
In many countries, women aged between 20-49 are advised to have annual gynaecological screening. The NHS provides cervical screening every three years for those aged 25-49, and every five years for women aged 50-65. Women under 25 or over 65, are not offered screening at all. This schedule is informed by health outcomes and economics. London Wellness advocate an annual screening programme as part of a preventative healthcare strategy.
The Eve Appeal reports that there are more than 21,000 women diagnosed with one of the five forms of gynaecological cancer annually. That equates to 55 women diagnosed – with 21 women losing that battle – each day in the UK.
London Wellness believes in empowering women to take an active role in their gynaecological health and wellness. There is an emphasis on early detection and prevention [of illness] through regular health screening, which is not offered on the NHS due to cost constraints.
Located in state-of-the-art premises in the Grade I listed Port East Buildings on West India Quay in Canary Wharf, London Wellness offers a seamless integrated service for all women’s wellness needs in a comfortable, welcoming and discreet environment.
Services include: screening for cervical and ovarian abnormalities, management of early pregnancy problems, investigation and treatment for problematic periods, fibroids or endometriosis. Also offered is a full diagnostic service (such as full sexual health check, scanning, blood tests and swabs), as well as surgical and medical treatment options.
All our women’s health services are delivered by approachable, kind and highly experienced Gynaecology Consultants.
Appointments can be made by phone 020 7531 4444 or online, at times to suit you. You do not need a referral from your GP.
